25 Health-Food Manufacturers That Offer Coupons

June 20, 2011 - Posted to Coupons, Food Deals, Groceries.

Health-food store

There’s a reason America’s favorite health-food chain, Whole Foods, is more commonly known  as “Whole Paycheck.” Thanks to its high prices, people take one look and believe they can’t eat healthier because “it’s too expensive.”

What you may not realize is both health-food stores and manufacturers now offer some tasty coupons. In fact, thanks to the success of the various health-food chains, my local supermarket is carrying more organic and whole grain foods than ever before, and they all eventually go on sale. When that happens, I break out the coupons for the best price I can find.

Read on for 25 companies that offer health-food coupons.

1. Fruit Simple Smoothies
These 100-percent-natural fruit smoothies have no added sugar, and one bottle provides two or three servings of fruit, depending on the number printed on the label. It’s the time-saver’s way to eat fruit with no peeling, pitting, etc. Check out recipes on their website, like Orange Mango Infused Pumpkin Pie. Yum!

2. Organic Valley Dairy Products and Fruits
A farmer-owned cooperative of organic food manufacturers offering more than 200 certified organic products, many of which are dairy items like milk, cheese and butter, their food is produced without antibiotics, synthetic hormones or pesticides. It tastes better and it’s kinder for the cows.

3. Glucerna Cereal, Bars and Shakes
Glucerna products are made with unique blends of slowly digested carbohydrates and key ingredients designed to help meet the needs of people with diabetes. Glucerna products have been shown to produce a lower blood sugar response in people with diabetes.

4. Organic Prairie Meats
Another farmer-owned cooperative that specializes in USDA certified beef, chicken, pork, turkey and other organic meats. Organic foods are often praised for great taste but for those who want to minimize exposure to toxins, and support humane and sustainable agricultural practices, the organic labeling laws are extremely important.

5. South Beach Living Cereals, Frozen Entrees and Snack Bars
When you just can't prepare a meal from scratch, Kraft has developed this line of convenient options that make it easier to follow the South Beach Diet. Whole fresh foods are always the best choice, but for those days when you don't have the time to prepare a home-cooked meal, South Beach Living Foods fill the gap.

6. Silk Soy, Almond and Coconut Milks
Probably best recognized for good-tasting soymilk, Silk has expanded its product line to include almond milk and coconut milk, for a real variety of options over cow’s milk. The soy, almond and coconut milks come in flavors including regular (lightly sweet), vanilla, chocolate (warning: addictive) and unsweetened.

7. Yoplait Yogurt
Yoplait makes a yogurt for everyone: kids, adults, dieters, people on the go. It’s a source of calcium, and live and active cultures which may help the digestive system. Calcium is a necessary nutrient for strong bones and teeth, and one many people fall short on, so yogurt is a healthy choice for those who don’t like drinking milk.

8. French Meadow Bakery Products
French Meadow Bakery offers organic and all-natural products including yeast-free, vegan, sprouted grain and Kosher Parve options like breads, tortillas, bagels, cakes, cookies and brownies. French Meadow also offers certified gluten-free baked goods that are made in a dedicated gluten-free facility.

9. Pompeian Olive Oil
Olive oil, rich in monounsaturated fat, has only two grams of saturated fat, no trans fat, and no cholesterol per serving. Olive oil has been a key component in the Mediterranean diet for thousands of years. This traditional style of eating has been associated with a low risk of cardiovascular disease.

10. Tropicana Fruit Juices
The well-known Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice provides vitamin C, the primary water-soluble antioxidant in the body, disarming free radicals and preventing damage both inside and outside cells. Tropicana’s newest product is Trop50, with half the sugar and calories, but no artificial sweeteners. It‘s sweetened with stevia, from a plant in the Chrysanthemum family.

11. Earth’s Best Organic Baby Food
Earth's Best offers a wide variety of formulas, cereals, jarred food blends and juices to ensure young diners gets wholesome and pure nutrition. When your pantry is full of those little-bitty jars for baby, it’s nice to know that the pureed carrots and strained peaches inside them are organic.

12. Mom’s Best Naturals Breakfast Cereals
When the babies get older, try this for breakfast. Owned by the same family for four generations, Mom’s Best is named in honor of a mother who taught the importance of good food, as well as stewardship. There’s nothing artificial, no saturated fat or hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup.

13. Stonyfield Farm Organic Yogurt, Soy Yogurt, Milk, Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream
Everything they make is certified organic. Stonyfield says the superior taste of organic foods come from living soils that have not been treated with the chemicals that kill microbial soil life on non-organic farms. They must be right because they make the only yogurt this blogger will eat.

14. Deer Park Natural Spring Water

16. Fruit2O Fruit Flavored Waters
No sugar, carbs or calories in this water, but instead a lot of flavors. Cherry, grape, strawberry, raspberry, lemon, peach, orange and tropical natural fruit flavors make a tasty way to drink water. It’s a good solution for people who hate the taste of plain water but want to drink more of it.

17. Mueller’s Whole Wheat Pasta

18. Real California Cheese
Born from an effort to promote California’s booming cheese industry, the Real California Cheese  certification mark was created 25 years ago to assure consumers that they were purchasing natural cheese made in California exclusively with milk sourced from California’s dairy families. A huge variety of cheeses bear this seal.

19. Natra Taste Gold
NatraTaste Gold is a zero-calorie sweetener containing sucralose, the same sweetener used in Splenda but at a much sweeter price. It tastes like sugar and doesn’t contribute any significant calories to your food and drink.

20. Old Orchard Healthy Balance Fruit Juices

21. Special K Protein Shakes
With 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, this is a way to eat something for breakfast and help you lose weight. A resealable lid makes it easy to tuck it in a purse, car or gym bag. A time-saver for breakfast, which is after all the most important meal of the day.

22. Northland Dark Fruit Juices
With antioxidants from pomegranate, cranberry, blueberry and red grape and infused into a new line of “dark” fruit juices, Northland may be onto something. Foods high in antioxidants are supposed to help maintain a healthy immune system. Plus the name reminds me of dark chocolate.

23. Mozzarella Fresca Italian Cheeses

Applesauce is indeed a healthy choice, but as a grower-owned cooperative, Musselman’s also helps the environment by applying sustainable practices. Apple pomace, the leftover pressed apple material, is used as cattle feed. Their trucking fleets use soybean-based bio-diesel fuel. They capture water from processing operations and use it to irrigate grass fields. They also redesigned packaging to reduce waste and have eliminated wasteful packaging lines completely.
