Quick Cash: 24 Ways to Make Money While Unemployed

February 15, 2010 - Posted to How To.

Job hunting is a time-consuming job, but learning how to make money fast doesn't pay a cent until you actually land a job. In the meantime, you still have to pay rent, utilities, health costs and somehow afford groceries. Unemployment benefits run out pretty fast, so there's little cushion for many of us.

I recently spent several years looking for work in my career area and learned how to make money fast while still leaving time to job hunt. It wasn't easy, but cleaning and using coupons helped me stay afloat and maintain some pride.

Here are 24 ways to earn quick cash with links to detailed instructions and useful connections. Combine several or focus on a single area, but make sure you get paid. Don't forget to file quarterly income taxes for the self-employed.

1. Human Guinea Pig
If you live near a university with a med school, you can earn anywhere from $15 to $2,000 for taking part in a clinical research study. The National Institutes of Health lists over 300 clinical studies that need volunteers.

House Cleaning

2. Clean Houses
No matter how bad the economy, some people will pay to avoid housework. And I'm not just talking the rich. Avoid working for a cleaning agency, where you'll get paid a maximum of $10 per hour and work like a dog. Instead, develop your own client base and put $20 to $30 per hour directly into your pocket. Granted it's hard work and requires an eye for detail, but the process goes much faster once you set up a regular schedule of clients. Page's Personal Cleaning offers a step-by-step guide to starting a housecleaning business from someone who's been there.

3. Give Blood
Some plasma banks pay up to $35 per pint. In the United States, federal regulations state that an individual may donate two times in a seven day period, with a minimum of two days in between donations. DonatingPlasma.org provides details and a searchable plasma-bank database to help you find a plasma bank in your area.

Walk Dogs

4. Walk Dogs
Do you love dogs and love spending time with them? So do lots of other people, but not everyone has the time to walk them, particularly in the middle of the day. Walking dogs is a good way to get some exercise while being paid for your time. StartDogWalking explains how to establish and advertise a dog-walking business.

5. Resell Your Unused Gift Cards
The average American household is holding on to $300 in unused gift cards. In fact, an estimated $30 billion to $40 billion gift cards lie unspent in dresser drawers across the country. But there are plenty of people who DO use budget gift cards, and they're willing to pay money for yours.

That's where you come in. You sell gift cards you're no longer using to resale companies for a percentage of the face value and they sell them at a discount price to others who will actually use those precious pieces of plastic. GiftCardGranny.com can link you up with the highest-paying gift card resellers in the industry.

6. Babysit
You did it as a teenager so why not babysit as an adult. You'd need a license and state accreditation to provide regular child care in your home but occasional babysitting in your or a client's home requires nothing but patience and a talent for child care. Look on CraigsList under "Gigs" and "Domestic" to get your business started. The University of Illinois Extension can get you started in the babysitting business.

House Sit

7. House Sit
Safety is the primary reason homeowners hire people to sit while they're out of town, but house sitters also water plants and care for the lawn, feed pets, collect mail, perform light housecleaning duties and take care of any emergency situations that might arise, like calling a plumber if a pipe bursts. Much of your work will come through referrals rather than advertising. Retirees who travel a great deal frequently need house sitters, so you can begin by volunteering your services to a friend and going from there. HouseCareers.com also can help connect you with housesitting jobs.

8. Flip Web Sites
This one takes computer savvy. Begin by searching for popular Web site topics, create a basic site on that topic then offer it to another e-commerce business involved in the same area. The idea is to build a site that has real money making potential, as well as being able to generate a good volume of traffic. You can do this by integrating elements such as GoogleAdSense, affiliate links and paid advertising into the site.

Sell your hair

9. Sell Your Hair
Sales for generous lengths of tresses reportedly can net you several hundred to over a thousand dollars. WiseBread explains how to sell your hair and includes sites where you can list and market  hair.

Deliver Phone Books

10. Deliver Phone Books
This is a fairly simple opportunity that can make anywhere between $7 and $10 per hour.  You're responsible, however, for paying for gas and must have a dependable car, but the rest is provided.PhoneBooks .com can connect you to phone book delivery opportunities in your area.

Census Worker

11. Become a Census Worker
The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, including mileage. Census Jobs are available now.

12. Sell Your Eggs
Donating your eggs can pay serious bank -- sometimes upwards of $5,000. The process isn't easy, however, and requires a time commitment. CheckIHR.com for egg donor and surrogacy programs in your area, as well as instructions on how to select the right program for you.

rent a truck

13. Rent-a-Truck
People have a constant need to get things from A to B, and not everyone has a truck or car. You can earn money helping people move, remove rubbish, recycle larger items and other jobs that require a larger vehicle. It helps to have a strong back and muscles.

do odd jobs

14. Do Odd Jobs
Canvas your community for such odd jobs as shoveling snow, washing cars, mowing lawns, weeding gardens, etc. The elderly, single mothers and busy couples may be more than delighted to have these time-consuming jobs taken off their hands. Here's an idea for a uniquely odd job.

15. Monetize Your Web Site or Blog
You're already spending a ton of time on your blog or Web site. Why not earn some money from all your labor? Google AdSense and nine other sites listed on MoolaDays require little to no supervision: Once it’s there, you don’t need to do much more.

16. Human Billboard
If you don't mind dressing up like the Statue of Liberty, a chicken or some other mascot, you can earn money standing on a busy corner to wave a sign and attract clients for various businesses. Not all jobs require a costume, but you do have to be willing to work in all types of weather. You'll frequently find ads for such work on CraigsList "Jobs," "Marketing."

17. Rent Out a Room
Sharing living expenses can put more cash in your pocket. Make sure you draw up a lease agreement specifying rent, security deposit terms, length of stay, etc. This becomes even more important if you're renting to someone you know.

paper route

18. Paper Route
It's a nasty job, but somebody has to do it and it's a quick way to earn cash. Newspaper delivery is almost always performed in the early morning hours, usually by 6:30 a.m. Don't forget to check with local weekly newspapers to see if they need delivery assistance. You'll likely need a dependable car as today's delivery routes are so large you can't complete them in the time required.

19.Teach English to Adults
Check with local schools and colleges to see if they need teachers for English as a Second Language classes. Not all schools require a language-specific degree for this level of instruction. ESL.com can connect you with ESL jobs across America and in other countries.

20. Sell Your Stuff
A good alternative to the yard sale is to sell your stuff on Craigslist or eBay, depending on the quality and whether you want to deal with shipping. Both sites allow you to sell nearly everything, from furniture and bikes to artwork and crafts. CraigsList is free and organized by region. Consult the CraigsList FAQ before you begin. eBay will take a cut of your profits and requires more technical savvy, but is a good outlet for collector's items, higher-end electronics, etc. Read the eBay Sellers Guide before you get started.

recycle containers

21. Recycle Containers
Eleven states require consumers pay a deposit on bottles and aluminum cans, but many people don't bother with returning the empties. You can gather empties at parks, cafeterias, school and athletic grounds, and on busy roadsides. The 10 states with bottle laws are California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon and Vermont. For state-by-state bottle-bill details visit BottleBill.org.

paint curb numbers

22. Paint Street Numbers
It takes just paint, stencils and a willingness to walk neighborhoods to earn from $10 to $40 per curb painted. HowToAdvice.com can help you start your own curb-painting business.

recycle scrap metal

23. Recycle Scrap Metal
Some salvage yards and recycling centers pay for scrap metal. You'll need a truck to lug the metal around. RecycleInMe lists scrap-metal buyers and the latest prices.

24. Freelance Work
Many easy-money stories will suggest putting your creative skills to work by freelance writing, doing design work, etc. I don't recommend this as a feasible way to make quick cash as it takes time to build up a clientele, even if you're well connected. Freelance work often pays pathetically little until you're well established and collecting paychecks can require the muscles and intimidation skills of a "Guido." For some reason, people don't place as high a value on creative skills and many have no qualms about asking you to work for free. That said, freelance work can be an excellent way to maintain your skills while developing a network for a real job. FreelanceJobs.org has an extensive list of freelance opportunities in many different areas.

Another great way to make money online is to take paid surveys. There are a lot of companies that pay you to share your opinion. You simply answer questions about their products and services, and they pay you.A lot of people think that all paid surveys are scams.Actually that is not right. If you want to find quality and legitimate survey sites and start making money today, follow my tips.1)Join ONLY legitimate and free survey sites. You can find them on Google, but DON'T type broad keywords like "surveys", or "paid surveys".Instead, try something more specific, like "paid surveys with free registration" or "how to find legitimate surveys for money".That way you will find better results.2)NEVER share your credit card information or your SSN.3)Try to find more information about the survey companies you plan to join by typing "YourSurveyCompanyName" scams, forums, review. That way you will find more information about every site, you are interested in.4)Join several free survey companies. That way you will make more money. Hope that helps.

The curb painting address thing has been around forever. I did that YEARS ago and it works, with minimal investment. Only prob was, when cops would come around and tell me I needed a biz license. I used to charge 5 bucks for 10 minutes of work.....Id say "Im doing all the numbers on your street today, would you care to have yours done also?" Makes em think EVERYONE is on board.....

Hey!!!! This work opened up new possibilities for artists. Through recycling we can overcome unemployment issues. You have done great work & share thought provoking ideas like sell your stuff, teach English to adults...

Posted October 9, 2012 by Scrap Sculptures

This sucks. I didn't find anything. I live on a street where I don't have any neighbors. I have horses!!! OK!!

Posted October 8, 2012 by Samatha

I can make like four hundred dollars a day hauling scrap metal. All I do is look in creeks and over bridges. If you would feel comfortable dumping you can bet someone already has. But also, every backroad I've ever been on has erosion spots where people used to dump metal years ago.

I have always found that if you sell gold jewelry for cash you can get a good turn out, or even just a little extra cash. The price of gold is only going up now. It's worth turning that gold necklace you never wear any more into a little extra cash!

Bitching at people doesn't get them a job any faster either. In fact, treating people with a sour attitude can cause them to put up their defenses and simply do what they've always done. Lowering people's self esteem doesn't get them a job any faster either.

Posted September 10, 2012 by How To Earn Dollar Fastly

There are many ways to make money online you just have to find what works best for you.

Posted September 3, 2012 by Barbara H.

This goes to the people looking for quick cash with no job and are 18 and up. Stop bitching if you need money you are going to have to work hard to get it. Try temp agencies. I'm working 5 12 hour shifts a week at ten dollars an hour and it's not fun trust me. But it pays the bills. Also I've done a lot of those things posted above and have made quite a bit of money. Some things have requirements but can be worth it for your struggle. But hey, if you need cash do what you gotta do, just don't sit here bitching about how you need money and want it to just fall into your lap.

Posted July 17, 2012 by happy gutierrez

I think the range between dog walking babysitting paper routes and then a higher scale like cencus and selling your eggs has completely covered all age ranges. I am 19 almost 20. I am soon to have two beautiful children. My daughter is a yr old now. And Im due in October. I would love to sell my eggs. Due to the fact that my dr wont tie my tubes because Im under the age of 25 and dont have 3 children. Not to mention you have to pay ten thousand dollars at the least for an invetro surgery. And you are required to have medical tests done, drug evaluations, and an extensive back ground check. Those who cant have children deserve the same options as the ones who can. To have a family. Babies they were able to experience carrying. Saying they dont know who would take good care of them and so on, is the same as saying your bf or husband killed your potential babies by whacking it in the shower. Eggs are not a fetus until placed into the uterus after becoming fertal with a mans sperm. My sisters children were both invetro. And they have her husbands and her dna plus the original carrier of the egg. Do your research, stop sounding so ignorant. The internet will only provide so much. You type in a question, you get simple answers. Choose the advice you have, or live a money hungry brat forever. Work. Go find a job on your own. Try and do something other than babysit or dog walk. Thats the great thing about being a child. Youre limited whether you like it or not. Get over it. Its life. And selling your hair, it cant be dyed and has to be atleast 13 inches of hair. And you will get maybe 10 dollars. So, its only worth it if you care about people suffering with cancer who can use your hair. By the sounds of it, you only care about money.

Dear Ann, Selling your eggs is not like selling your soul you idiot. It's the same as adoption and in some cases the adoptive parents or those taking the eggs are better parents than the original ever could be.

Posted June 25, 2012 by Tree removal Brisbane

I thought you brought some good ideas to the table, but.......selling your eggs? That's a moral one that women blindly have done for the sake of the almighty dollar without thinking that their child will be in the fate of the hands of someone they have no idea who it is or how they will be raised. In other words, selling your eggs is like selling your soul.

Haha I don't want to make 10$ walking someones dog..... i want to be a freakin millionaire.. i'm a vet that's been unemployed since my discharge last year.. i can always pick up work here n there but i wanna go big fast lol... so whats the best way at that? i was thinking of starting a "gang" or something of like that.... sounds stupid right? well whats stopping 100 poor people from gathering together and taking from rich corporations... like strait up 100 people robbing a bank doesnt sound like a bad get rich quick scheme... or even 1000 ppl...the odds are better then giving your money away to the lotto... then again I would hate to be successful and be the guy responsible of starting wide spread anarchy haha. I got the idea watching the news... teen kids gathered in groups and walked into stores took what they wanted then scattered... I would only be able to do it from a corporation that's been stealing from the ppl for years though.... what a stupid awesome idea..

These are all very creative ideas - fun read :) I

Posted June 5, 2012 by Beate

thanks for tips, you gave me some awesome ideas, since im a man i can't sell eggs i dont have lol. I see a lot of trolling going on in the comments area. I just wanted to say who cares? if your visiting this web site odds are you probably don't have a job either. college degree or not. I just wanna say for the record that most Americans are not lazy we are just trapped in a capitalistic system where the rich get richer, and poor are steadily growing everyday(this is not just in america, it's all over the world). we live in a society where it is survival of the richest, if you look back on history you can see that as human beings we are constantly making the same mistakes as the great empires that have came before us. simply we let the rich and people of powerful control the world, their interest are not the interest of the masses, the only interest they have is making more money and they would sell the own grand mother to turn a profit. any man who knows this will tell you that behind every amount of great wealth in this world there is a crime or crimes that has been committed. the us economy is controlled by the US federal reserve( a private bank not the government).one of the founders of this bank is man named J p morgan. did ya know that j p morgan used to own and trade slaves ? slavery was one of his biggest commodites, and im sure he wasnt thrilled about its abolition. today j p morgan the corporation not the man( Romney: "corperations are people too") is in charge of distributing the funds for ebt aka welfare cards or food stamps does anyone see the irony this. racism aside our fore fathers wrote the constitution of america so that all men would be seen as equals and they would all have the right to pursue our happiness and liberty. when congress announce that corporations are people check out the 14th amendment we sold our souls to the bank, and that bank has been a pain in our asses , the us federal reserve bank is reason for inflation and is the reason why we had the great depression b4 i keep rambling on check out the ethos movie, real powerful stuff it will explain a lot.

I could conceivably put together a weight loss group. I'm a good public speaker and writer. I'm also skilled on the computer (WORD, Google), having done transcription. But if I were to do transcription or legal secy work, I'd prefer to work on site (not at home. I've done a lot of receptionist work & wouldn't mind doing it again, locally, in the Hilo, Hawaii area. Brook: Foolish and naive people like you are what make American "so damn pathetic", as you so eloquently put it. (See, that college education is paying off already.) You're obviously young and unaware of the realities of life beyond the age of 25, so give 5 minutes of your precious time for an education. (Yes, there is actual knowledge to be had outside of a college classroom.) You should have learned in History 101 that America was founded by people with a wonderful combination of ingenuity and willingness to work hard to succeed. These people had the determination to make a way for themselves, no matter what their circumstances. A lack of willingness to perform physical work is why this country produces NOTHING anymore. That's because of sheer laziness and absolute arrogance toward those who want to provide a physical product or service. For the record, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates all dropped out of college and did fairly well for themselves. (Bill only went back because his mother was embarrassed.) None regretted the decision. The wealthiest people I know include a gentleman who owns the largest trucking company on the west coast and the other sells communication systems to the shipping industry. Both opted to work after high school, rather than sit in a classroom. They're both doing better financially than any person I know with a college degree. For your children's sake, should you have any, I hope you never lose that precious job you think is so secure. (That's an obvious indication of your lack of life experience.) You'll obviously not have the drive or humility to provide for them by any means necessary when the going gets really tough. For the most part, the people in this forum are clearly creative and hard working people who are willing go out and earn to provide for their families, even if they have to temporarily do things they would never consider under normal circumstances. You've heard America is in the greatest recession since the Great Depression, right? These people should be commended. Maybe you should stick around for a while; you could learn a lot from them. That begs the question; What are you doing in a forum called "Quick Cash - 24 Ways to Make Money While Unemployed" anyway? You have one of those magical, job-ensuring degrees, right? I digress. Oh, and you should probably thank the vast majority of the people here. They were out working and paying taxes so you could sit in a classroom for 4 (or 5 or 6) years on their dime, courtesy of the taxpayer funded federal student loan programs. You're welcome. On a more positive note, I want to give a big thanks to CouponSherpa and many of the post contributors for generously sharing their ideas!

You go into menopause when you have about 1,000 eggs left, on average. So unless you only have 1,004 or so eggs, you won't go into menopause immediately after your donation. Even if you donated all the time, the average woman has more than enough usable eggs -- about 400,000. Are you going to have 400,000 kids? Unless you're that one unlucky woman born without enough eggs, it's really foolish to not donate eggs. You could never possibly use ALL of your eggs in your lifetime.

I like the book-selling idea that was in the comments. I just cleaned out my bookshelf for a garage sale next weekend. I'm to the point of just selling all my stuff as it doesn't help to own a bunch of junk if I have nowhere to put it, except in a box under a bridge! After work, I'm going to go home and price them all. What the heck, right? I just want to pay off my credit cards so I can start seriously chipping away at student loans. So many bills. :( Trading in scrap is good work too, It's hard, but good if you have a truck and a friend to help load heavy stuff

So many of you are leaving uneducated comments regarding egg and sperm donation. It's a personal choice and, as a loving couple with fertility challenges, we are thankful someone made that choice and gave us the greatest gift and love of our lives -- our son. If your attitude is that you're selling your future children or that some gold-digging child is going to track you down for money some day, you clearly are not someone who should become a parent. At least the people utilizing donated eggs or sperm are typically families wanting to provide a loving stable home, which is more than so many children have these days.

If you try to post a JOB at Craigslist, they charge $25 per category. Posting an ad for a roommate or something else does not cost anything. Go try it. Post a job in the "JOBS" category and see if they don't try to charge you.

I have to say these are good ideas to make some money. I had thought of a couple of them already. The problem, is I lost my brakes two days ago and went through an intersection right in front of a cop. They towed my car to the police station and have to inspect it to make sure it's safe to drive. Do you know how hard that is on me? Where I live there are no buses and my family and friends are starting to get sick of helping me out. That is so wrong because I love them all to death. I would die for any of them, never mind help them out if they were down.

Thank you for the idea about painting house numbers on curbs. I thought it was an original idea and probably works out pretty well. I wanted to suggest an easier way, to make money, but it's not as quick as some you've mentioned. Websites like Varolo let advertisers pay you directly to watch ads. it is pyramid based, so the more people you introduce the more you make. Best of all, it is completely free and only takes up about ten minutes a day. Thanks again for the great article and ideas.

Donating plasma is good, but i would not do it all the time. It's not smart to mess with your body too much.

Posted August 29, 2011 by derek

You can work for Walmart as a greeter. It pays well and you get to meet everyone!

Posted August 28, 2011 by namay maamy

there are NO paid surveys and, if there are, you have to pay for them. I'm doing the plasma thing now. I'm a 6'5", 307 pound male and 41 years old. I've donated 5 times already, but i started to feel weird after the fifth time. I got an ocular migraine an hour after the fifth one as I was dehydrated. The first four donations were fine. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone my age and up, as it's mostly for the younger people. I had this weird sense of well being yesterday and some today, but not as much. Maybe the saline is not agreeing with my body type or maybe it's the change of life, my age or my liver. I don't like it. As far as my blood goes, I have good protein -- a seven, they said -- and high iron. For some reason, my body chemistry was not like this after the fifth donation. Another thing too: They told me to come back on the 30th. That's a day later then usual.

Also you can make money by working with companies that pay you to place advertisement on your car. Look up on the internet 'pay to drive.' You can make from $400 hundred per month to $1000 a month. This is a good little income even to pay your car notes. Also you can do clinical trails. You can make from $150.00 to $4000 per reseach withing one month. Also check paid surveys. Paid sarvey you can make up to $1800 per month.

Selling human eggs is one of the top 24? What is this world coming to?? By selling your sperm and eggs you are selling your most precious possessions - YOUR FUTURE CHILDREN and your parents FUTURE GRANDCHILDREN. Plus, procreation comes with accountability and responsibility. I don't think much of a person who doesn't give a hoot that they have biological children out there that they don't even love, raise, or financially support. Plus, it is a form of eugenics - if you don't have a college education, good luck donating your seed of life. With sperm/egg donation people want a better chance at having a kid that is smart/attractive/tall/super healthy. With adoption it's fate - FATE - THE WAY IT SHOULD BE! SELECTIVE BREEDING FOR BABIES - Hitler, anyone??? "Donor-concieved children" "Super Donors with High IQ" Sheesh! I feel like I'm living in an George Orwell science fiction novel!

I finally decided to read one of these articles in an internet newsgroup describing how to make $50,000.00 in only one month from a $5.00 investment. Of course I thought this was ridiculous ,or some type of pyramid. I talked it over with my family, an attorney, and my friends, and they all agreed it was some sort of scam. I hate scams because usually someone gets burned, and I didn't want it to be me! I blew it off for a few weeks then saw another one in a newsgroup I go to a lot and thought, "Maybe this is legitimate!". Besides, what%u2019s $5.00 Well, two weeks later, I began receiving money in the mail! I couldn't believe it! Not just a little , I mean big bucks! At first only a few hundred dollars, then a week later, a couple of thousand , then BOOM . By the end of the fourth week , I had received nearly $47,000.00. It came from all over the world. And every bit of it perfectly legal and on the up and up. I've been able to pay off all my bills and still had enough left over for a nice vacation for me and my family. Not only does it work for me, it works for other folks as well. Markus Valppu says he made $57,883 in four weeks. Dave Manning claims he made $53,664 in the same amount of time. Dan Shepstone says it was only $17,000 for him. Do I know these folks? No, but when I read how they say they did it, it made sense to me. Enough sense that I'm taking a similar chance with $5 of my own money. Not a big chance, I admit--but one with incredible potential, because $5 is all anyone ever invests in this system. Period. That's all Markus, Dave, or Dan invested, yet their $5 netted them tens of thousands of dollars each, in a safe, legal, completely legitimate way. Here's how it works in 3 easy steps: STEP 1. Invest your $5 by writing your name and address on five separate pieces of paper along with the words: "PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR MAILING LIST." (In this way, you're not just sending a dollar to someone; you're paying for a legitimate service.) Fold a $1 bill, money order, or bank note inside each paper, and mail them by standard U. S. Mail to the following five addresses: 1)- Heath Ward P.O. Box 2027 Dodge City, KS 67801 2)- Matthew Kulbacki 1025 12th Street Golden, CO, USA 80401 3)- Nikki Robinson 2324 Frederick Place Valdosta, GA 31602 4)- Ross O%u2019Brien 1040 Pine Lane Lafayette, CA 94549 5)-Zahria Radford 2211 Laurel Oak Missouri City, TX 77489 STEP 2. Now remove the top name from the list, and move the other names up. This way, #5 becomes #4 and so on. Put your name in as the fifth one on the list. STEP 3. Post the article to at least 200 newsgroups. There are at least 17000 newsgroups at any given moment in time. Try posting to as many newsgroups as you can. Remember the more groups you post to, the more people will see your article and send you cash! STEP 4. You are now in business for yourself, and should start seeing returns within 7 to 14 days! Remember, the internet is new and huge. There is no way you can lose. Now here is how and why this system works: Out of every block of 200 posts I made, I got back 5 responses. Yes, that%u2019s right, only 5. You make $5.00 in cash, not checks or money orders, but real cash with your name at #5. Each additional person who sent you $1.00 now also makes 200 additional postings with your name at #4, 1000 postings. On average then, 50 people will send you $1.00 with your name at #4,....$50.00 in your pocket! Now these 50 new people will make 200 postings each with your name at #3 or 10,000 postings. Average return, 500 people= $500. They make 200 postings each with your name at #2= 100,000 postings=5000 returns at $1.00 each=$5,000.00 in cash! Finally, 5,000 people make 200 postings each with your name at #1 and you get a return of $50,000 before your name drops off the list. And that's only if everyone down the line makes only 200 postings each! Your total income for this one cycle is $55,000. From time to time when you see your name is no longer on the list, you take the latest posting you can find and start all over again. The end result depends on you. You must follow through and repost this article everywhere you can think of. The more postings you make, the more cash ends up in your mailbox. It's too easy and too cheap to pass up!!! So thats it. Pretty simple sounding stuff, huh? But believe me, it works. If you're really not sure or still think this can't be for real, then don't do it. But please print this article and pass it along to someone you know who really needs the money, and see what happens.

OK, there's a lot of fiction on here...I'm sure by "cleaning out" he meant for the people who are more than likely fixing and flipping the house, i.e. the bank. Plasma is the number one product derived from whole blood, but it can be donated flat out as well. Craigslist is not completely free, i.e. posting jobs $25.00 a post. In regard to the whole relatives running around after donating eggs...not likely considering they removed the genetic material in the egg to be replaced with the clients.

Posted April 4, 2011 by kay

I have comments on three things.. - SCRAP METAL: If you have a pickup truck and a driver's license, just drive around and look in apartment complex dumpsters for anything metal. Throw it in the truck. When the truck is full take it to the scrap yard and dump it off. You'll probably make $20.00 for random metal crap. If you find anything really heavy you might make hundreds. I don't know if it's legal to fish through apartment complex dumpsters but I see people do it all the time. - TELEPHONE BOOK DELIVERY: I did it one year and lost money. I hussled pretty good but I was using a car. I had to load the car full of books, then pull up near the houses, get out and deliver to five or so houses on foot, then pull the car up to the next area etc. In the end, the cost of gas was a bit more then the profit I made. Unless you have a van or pickup and at least one helper stay away from this operation. If you can choose your route, choose an apartment complex and preferrably one with several floors to each building. Walking up stairs is hard work but it enables you to keep your vehicle parked in one location for a long time which saves money. - UNEMPLOYMENT: I was on unemployment once and I took the first job I could find. When it turned out to be seriously hazardous - I mean very dangerous; the things they made me do were unbelieveable - I quit. In retrospect I should have reported them to someone or mouthed off about it and purposely gotten fired so I could collect more unemployment. Since I quit I was left with nothing. I learned that you're better off staying on unemployment and not taking a job offers if they're not ideal. That doesn't seem like good work ethic and it's not what the state wants you to do but unemployment programs sometimes ditch people too quickly after find new employment. You're better off staying on unemployment for as long as possible while depositing as much money as you can into your savings account and generating non-taxable cash by babysitting or mowing lawns or something, until you find something ideal.

And don't give me the you "don't have money" to pay for school. There's financial aid and that's what student loans are for. The best way to make money is to find a group of people with a below average intelligence and find a way to legally extort money from them. There are several businesses like these showing up on tv lately like Cash for Gold. Think about it why would you sell your spun or forged gold jewelry for less than the weight of the gold itself. simply walking these items into a pawn shop will net you more cash. Basically just find a demographic of people (the poor or stupid usually work best) and come up with service or item that they don't really need. Pay a few people from that demographic to promote said item or service and the rest will follow.

I have never done this myself, but I know a married couple who help out at a local food shelf usually 2 Saturday mornings per month for a few hours each of those Saturdays. Although they do not get paid, they do get to each take home one bag of food in exchange for their time (and let's face it, the price of food keeps going up!) As far as using Craigslist, it is a great resource, but always beware -- several years ago here in Minneapolis/St. Paul a young woman was murdered when going to a babysitting job she responded to off of Craigslist, and the guy who placed the ad was not who he claimed to be. Also, in April, 2010 kk stated "Employees do not pay into unemployment". Now in the most literal sense, that is correct. But please keep in mind kk that as a government worker you pretty much get to have your cake and eat it too. You see, in the real world (private companies), employees end up indirectly footing the bill, as it means that employers must withhold some of what we would get in raises and benefits to instead pay for the unemployment insurance.

A couple more ideas: go to offices and see if they need someone to take out the trash, if they need someone to change light bulbs, if they need someone to sit and answer phones, while they take lunch breaks. Ask if they need lunches or coffee brought it to their offices! Lots of work is available, if you just let them know what YOU can do for THEM!

Yes people, in some places you get paid to donate your blood. I have done this before and would do it again if needed. They use a fresh needle and take it out of the protective package thing right in front of you so there is no reason for a hospital to not use the blood or deny a patient a transfusion. Such a thing would be unethical. Anyway, they typically pay $20-$30 for normal donors and $50 for rare blood type donors.

For some of you college students... consider nude modeling if you are comfortable. Pays $15-$20 per hour but remember a class length is usually no more than 3. But a couple of night classes a week will get you set. Also keep in mind, that it is not dependable long term. I would say no longer than a month, there would be need for a new model. So if you are just trying to pay back a friend, make a car payment or want to rent a hotel for your birthday weekend.... this may be an idea! (Please no rude feedback, everyone has different situations and different ways to go about resolving financial issues, I hope this well somebody!)

When you sell your eggs or sperm, it is not just your business. You are selling your Family Jewels. I don't want my future grand-babies being sold. I can't wait 'till these kids grow up and claim inheritance rights from familys that never heard of them. As for saying you don't harm yourself by doing it--no one has ever done the research on that, so they cannot say one way or the other. But reports are getting out there that yes, it can cause a lot of damage-even death and worse. Speaking of Craigslist-selling body parts is against Cragslist TOS, yet the egg-buyers agencys continue to place ads. If this was so reputable, why would the companies continue to violate Cragslist policy? Just enter the keywords, cragslist donor, and you will see ads for every city in the help-wanted and other sections. (and if you click on an ad make sure to flag it for deletion 'cause it violates policy). Selling your eggs and sperm is selling your family.

why not become a paid product tester? There are companies that pay you for going onsite to try existing products for an hour and they will pay about $40 or more if you are asked to stay for more than a hour. Even for focus/discussion groups, those pay about $80/$100 per hour. I live on the SF Bay Area and I do ocassionally food tasting tests for Tragon in Redwood Shores. There are other research companies in the area that have other offerings for quick cash as well.

oddly enough you are required to have a B.A. to donate sperm and submit yourself to a very rigid health screening not to mention have a porn star like sperm count. but If you have all that then it pays about $600 a shot.

well...i read a couple comments about the whole egg donation that are really negative and some that are comforting.. specially for me that im thinking about doing it.... i really need money for school and that amount of money almost makes me drool.... i cant find a job my only option is to keep looking but i also want to start school.. and plus like that one girl said if someone wants to have babies she should... i personally never want to have children so... yeah why not? i will do more research on this to be sure.... cause some of you people really scare me lol

Posted December 17, 2010 by scuuurrd

Andrew, Sperm donation is likely not listed due to the rise of the hidden cost to the donor, namely 18 years of child support. It all started with a lesbian couple in Pennsylvania who sued 1) to get the identity of their donor, and then 2) sued said donor for child support... AND WON. It became a precedent case, and now women all over are suing sperm donors for child support. As such, most men will no longer "anonymously" donate sperm.

Chris, you are absolutely ignorant. Were you raised by a pack of wolves or what? Its not illegal to clean out foreclosed houses! Lol. Were you serious? I mean, obviously you have to have an agreement with the bank or lender that owns the home. DUH. I know alot of people that do this for a living. Its not new or anything. I know an old guy thats been doing it since the early 70's. You cant just go in some random foreclosed house that you happen to pass by and start taking things out, of course, but do you think the bank gets the tellers, loan officer, or the president to go clean the stuff out of their foreclosed houses? Uhhh No. Greetings Chris, the Earth says hello. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I would NEVER sell my eggs. I mean, five grand would be great especially when I am paying for college but I dont think I would like the thought that there might be a child out there one day that is biologically mine and I wouldn't even know. Same goes for sperm donation. I wouldn't want my husband donating sperm either. Plus, who knows if it might throw you into early menopause! Because contrary to what everyone earlier is saying, there is no medication to make a woman produce more eggs. She is born with the amount she will always have. There may be drugs to take to make your ovaries release more than one at a time, but you can never reproduce more. one they are gone, they're gone!!!

I took on a paper route and did that for a year, but I was called out between the hours of 1 and 2am when the papers were ready and would finish the route between 4 and 5am seven days a week. My route was 40 miles long and I spent on average, $400 a month in gas alone to work that route. You buy the papers, the bags, and pay for your own gas. Still, it's an ok job if you're looking for some extra cash, but if you work another job, you'll wear down fast. It isn't as easy as what most people think. Now, there are some areas where you start out at 6:30am and done by 8am, but if you're in a rural area, you can expect a 30 to 70 mile route.

I once donated plasma and I cried the whole time. It was painfull to lay there with something stuck in your arm....and it made me so very cold. I am curious about donating eggs but I have had my tubes tied so I do not know if that would be a possibility for me or not. Does anyone know if you can donate eggs if your tubes are tied? SUCH anger about donating eggs in these comments....geez! Having been thorugh fertility treatments, I know a lot about this and would like to correct some misconceptions. First of all, there is absolutely no research or data that says that the fertility drugs given to enhance egg production lead to cancer. That is unfounded. Yes, it is a long process that involves taking medications and going through a very breif (about 20 min) outpatient procedure to remove the eggs. There is some effort and some discomfort involved which is why donors are paid well. Shouldn't they be for what they are doing? I think so. Of course, any young woman interested in this should learn all she can an make her own informed choice. This is NOT like donating a leg or organ. That is absurd. (And if anyone is confused by anatomy--this is EGG donation, NOT ovary donation). It is the equivalent of donating sperm, it is just that because of physiology, the procedure is more involved. So yes, an egg donor might very well have biological children out there but guess what, so does a sperm donor...but no one was aghast about a man not knowing his biological children, just a woman.

The injections made her gain weight of which she lost quickly thereafter. Other than that it wasn't bad. She was permitted to do it a maximum of 3 times each time paying more than the previous. First time was like $2500 I think and last time was $3500.

Craigslist is free in most cities and they do charge a 25 dollar fee to post employment ads in some of the larger cities. But that is not for posting things for sale. Just some of the business type ads. Look it up yourself go to portland oregon and try to post and employment ad and it will be a charge of 25 dollars. People need to really think before they speak. or Yell at somone for stating a true fact. Not all states or cities but some of the larger states and cities that get a lot of traffic do indeed charge to post in some venues!

I have donated plasma for about 5 years now. The center that I donate at does not attract the "low lifes." The problem now is that the plasma center is closed this week because there are too many people wanting or needing to donate and there is too much plasma right now (supply and demand). So the center is closed for the week and may close for a week in October and another week in December. They also went from $20 for the first donation and $30 for the second donation in a week to $20 for each donation. I guess this way of making a quick buck is very popular right now!

Posted August 2, 2010 by Christie

Selling your eggs may be invasive, but if you do not plan on having children, then why not donate them to someone who wants children, can raise and take care of them, but cannot have children themselves. I don't understand why people get upset when someone brings that topic up. I have applied to do the procedure myself, and my mother got very upset with me. There are many women out there who could benefit from having them, so I believe if you do your research, and are comfortable with it, then it is your choice, and people who believe that it is wrong just shouldn't worry about it, because if you are not the one doing it, then it is not your body or egg to worry about.

hay what can a very busy stay at home mom with 4 young children do for extra income?any ideas?

Posted August 1, 2010 by lc

As far as donating plasma goes. I've been doing it for about 2 years now. And yes, they are set up in areas of town to attract all the dope fiends and low lifes. They don't even pay you very fairly for your plasma. The average pay for a regular plasma donor is about 20-25$ your first donation, and 30-35 for your second in a week. While the company you are donating through turns around and sells your 825 ml bottle of plasma to a pharmaceutical company for anywhere between 1500$ and 2500$. Whos REALLY making the money at these places? Not me. I donate only on the basis that my mother has Hep C. and her treatment meds are made from human plasma. The money comes second to me. So you what you get paid for your plasma is nothing in comparison to what the actual donation clinic gets per bottle of plasma when they sell it. Bottom line is, if your not doing it for a REAL reason other than money, you will find yourself hating it. Long lines, endless hours of wait, and having to deal with being in an environment full of crack heads that are looking to get a few bucks for their next score. I personally think they should drug test every asshole that attempts to donate. Cause I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want any medications that were derived from some crack heads plasma.

I have donated plasma in the past. They hook you up to a intravenous line and pump your blood into a container. this container is hooked up to a machine that separates the plasma from the blood. the plasma then goes into a separate container, while your blood is then returned to yuor body. Everything used in this process is new and sterile. I have donated plasma in the past when i was really short on cash. There is usually a screening process, which takes about 2 hours. and donating plasma itself can take 1-2 hours depending how hydrated your blood is. You usually can make 25- 35 dollars doing this. If you donate within a week you get even more. While this may be totally legal, you have to think about where they have these plasma centers set up. It usually is in the seedier part of town. Why is that , i wonder? You also have to think that these plasma centers are making a huge profit on your plasma. What they give you is less than a 1/10 (tenth) of what they make on it. When i used to donate, i have seen many people that where noticeably drunk or high. Personally at the time i needed the money, and it was an easy way to get money. I would never do it again myself, but sometimes people do what they need to to make a living. Especially if there are others counting on you. Hope this helps somebody out if they are thinking about donating plasma.

I had my own home and condo repair business here in SW Florida up until about six months ago. No,I didn't have a general contractors license(have to go to class, costs thousands of dollars),just a general handyman.I did form an LLC.I went to numerous real estate agents and banks about foreclosure cleanup and repair and got nothing.Zippo ,nada.Although there has been an uptick lately, here the housing market is still depressed, banks are going under for making bad loans, the rest are trying to stay afloat, they aren't putting money into fixing up foreclosures-they've already lost money on the property. If they do decide to put anything into it,it won't be much. So, for all you saying how good you are doing in this business, well good for you ,but I bet you don't live around here!

I think some personal selling companies are far too expensive...but some are a great way to earn money when you want to work, build up personal networks for finding another job and learn sales skills.

Posted April 17, 2010 by values

This is in reference to Dana's coment. You are confusing wellfare with unemployment benefits. So unemployment is not being funded by the working tax payer like wellfare benfits. It's paid by employer and employee deductions. And to KK I don't know how it works in your state. But where I live there is a unemployment deduction taken out of my paycheck. Granted the employer also contributes to unemployment insurance. But so does the employee in my case.

Posted April 17, 2010 by Say What ?

I don't know the rules in other states but, in IL you are able to make up to 50% of your weekly unemployment check with a part-time job. IL has an automated system to certify. You report every 2 weeks if you worked each week and your wages. I did a census job last year and I was paid for the administrative day to fill out paperwork. That did not cut me off of unemployment. Once I started the census job and my reported wages for the week exceeded my weekly unemployment, then my unemployment stopped. The census job originally was estimated to be for 10 weeks. It only lasted for 3 weeks. Once I was done I reported my job was over and I went back on unemployment. I have been fortunate to have a temporary medical coding job for the last 10 months. I started this job 6 weeks after the census job ended.

I have owned a pet sitting business for 10 years . IThe job isn't as easy as it seams when the first job is at 7 am and the last is at 9 or 10 at night. Going out in all weather. There are no sick days. If you are sick you still have to go take care of the animal. Have to work 7 days aweek including holidays. Always fun working Christmas and having to go to a clients house 3 times a day, 4th of July, memorial day, New years, and Easter. Its not that great when you have to walk a dog in 20 degree weather, or the pouring rain. Remember this isn't justy doing it for friends this is a business which includes taxes, and alot of responsiblity if the animal gets sick, hurt or if the animal soils the carpet because you where late. The financial responsibility. Even if you are doing it for a friend and the dog gets out and bites someone. You are responsible , not the owner. If you own a home the person that was bit can sue your homeowners. If they find out iyou were doing it as a business homeownerws maynot cover it and you can go after your personal assets. Think really long and hard before opening your own pet sitting business. One ,the economy has effected my business also. People aren't traveling as much as they use to, or they are using friends and family to care for thier pets. Gas prices have gone up , oh yeah and every one and thier brother that has been laid off have been opeing a pet sitting business so the market is now flooded and the need has decreased.

It is unfortunate that so many receiving unemployment do not understand where the money comes from. I work for the state and occasionally assist my customers with unemployment issues. Many believe they have paid into unemployment, when the fact is their employer pays in. Think of it as you would auto insurance being purchased by your parents. It is being paid into by someone else (it is not a deduction from your paycheck) to protect you should you ever have an 'accident' (being laid off). No one can collect insurance (it is actually called 'unemployment insurance') if they do not currently have coverage. In other words, you may have worked for 30 years for one employer at a very high salary, but worked the last five for minimum wage. Unemployment goes by what the current employers coverage was for you when you are laid off. Hope that clears some things up. Employees do not pay into unemployment.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with donating blood or blood products such as plasma. I did it for years and it is safe as long as you stay hydrated before and after the process. The process is federally regulated, so there is nothing sordid about it. You can ignore an earlier comment by poster Ken Brown about his freind almost not getting a transfusion that he needed after they found out he donated blood for money....that is a TOTAL LIE!! I repeat, donating blood or plasma is FEDERALLY REGULATED and LEGAL!!

I do not know which is better to sell more expensive stuff on e-bay or craig's list. when I looked up craig's list, I really did not find anything aboout my items. I know e-bay charges for reserved listings. Which is better. Can you put a top dollar item on craig's list and keep the price as buy for the asking price like e-bay does? I don't want to pay for all the charges on e-bay. I get confused. I am new at selling. Any resonse, I would appreciate. Thank you, Beryl

The donating blood idea is worse than u think. Recently I tried this. I sat in a very seedy part of town where the place was located. Many shady characters were there in the donation center. After passing all the physical portion with ease, I had to continue to answer more questions. In the end they denied me and told me I could never come back. All of this because I had smoked crack 17 years ago. I was angry because they denied me because I was honest. You could tell half the people in there were on drugs and just were lying. They were selling their blood for the dope. Nothing should be held against you if it happened 17 years ago, They also told me that I could not donate anywhere not even the Red Cross which is a crock of crap because I have done that several times and they continue to call me again and again. There reasoning is just plain ridiculous.

seems dacker does not want a ''job'' to get his way of getting a pay check! Your " not willing to work " benifits are being paid for through taxation, by those who choose work! To sum it up, you won't do these jobs because you calculate more money can be made from drawing unemployment. It's too bad were paying, more people, more money than ever to sit home, because in this case the old addage "you get what you pay for", has never been more true.

i have one more idea to earn..now you can earn by sitting at home by jining some earnig websit who will give you diferent projects about different fields and they will pay for that..............

I donate plasma twice a week and make $260 a month doing it. There have been times where that money really saved my butt. I also sell "items" based on a hobby of mine online that I make some money from. I like the idea of cleaning out foreclosed houses. I'm going to seriously check into that.

Posted March 31, 2010 by Paul

I just called a plasma center listed in the article, which was about a little over 133 miles fr my house. The fee schedule was a bit weird but the long and short of it all is that the compensation starts at $15 and goes up and down based upon the number of times you donate to $20 most of the time with one bonus after about 15 donations of $30. Does anyone know of a center that is close to the Boston area.

Dave, I really agree with you on starting your own busness. I started mine three years ago, and get more business these days from companies outsourcing their work. I also get to write off a lot of stuff I couldn't when I was a "jobber".

Posted March 31, 2010 by Contessa777

dacker--When I was let go from my job I looked into unemployment. At the same time, one of the clients I dealt with from my job asked me to continue doing the job for them on my own. Since I had no non-compete agreement with my former employer, I agreed. Just the small amount I made from that made me ineligible for unemployment. So, that was the birth of my own business. It's been hard, but successful.

I am in Oregon and I get over $200.00 donating Plasma every month... I also recycle cans and bottles that brings in around $300.00 to $600.00 plus a month depending on how many days I collect the recycled items... I've been donating for over a year. As for the cans and bottles, I've been doing it for the last 13 years...I did the Phone book thing one year for three days got $95.00, broke even with gas... I was only laid off for 8 months, my ex got a paper route that I worked cause she just had a baby. The paper route and the unemployment checks paid well to help us both out, the paper lasted two years even after I got a job. Yes a full time job I have right now and I still want to make more...

Posted March 31, 2010 by Russell

@Chris... hahahaha No way man, it is totally LEGAL to clean out foreclosures and bank repos under contract and how you dispose of the contents is usually another charge in the contract... ..I'm a contractor, and I do real estate clean outs on bank foreclosures under contract all the time. I charge for cleaning supplies, rubbish disposal (dump fee), and any repairs that need made (ie: drywall, carpet cleaning, trim work, painting etc... and 99.99% of the time, the agent contracting the cleanout has already seen the contents, is aware of what is there, and signs off on the disclaimer in the contract that I am not held liable for any 3rd party claim to any removed item. Its a VERY profitable business service I provide and, YES, you can (OFTEN) find some pretty cool items you might not even want to sell in a yard sale... What happens goes down like this: The bank forecloses, people cant find another place to move to in time (usually for lack of funds) and are ordered vacated...meaning they gotta move everything out (including their own persons) or risk losing the stuff and being arrested for criminal trespassing (in their own home, yes I know its really "F'ed up" but thats the way they play it)... By the time the house gets the cleanup order it has sat empty for a while, until the bank assesses value and wants it placed on the market.., so they call a real estate agent, who checks it out and confers with the bank its sales potential according to neighborhood property value and condition... they eventually agree on a market price, then the real estate agent contracts with the bank for the sale... once that happens, the agency assigns priority to each house that has certain issues in need of repair or cleaning and preparation for sale... by the time they get around to calling me, the house has been vacated 2 months, sometimes all winter, and most of the time already picked through by at least 4 prior visitors who might walk away with whatever they can carry out by hand... My liability is contracted, dated, and totally defensible in court... 64" Plasma TV? Oh yeah... THAT is a good day! I've picked up everything from abandoned motorcycles, bicycles, lawn mowers, rifles in closets, handguns on cabinet shelves, fishing gear, to wads of cash in nightstands and solid gold jewelry laying on bathroom vanity tops... Once I even found some antique items that paid off a car and bought new tires... ...very VERY lucrative service I provide to my real estate agents... and, on days like those, you just get into a cleanin kinda mood my brotha! We do great work! My guys love it when I assign tasks by room and tell them, whatever you find in that room, is up to you if it makes it to the truck or not... (Job security LOL) ...about half of our cleanouts look like walkouts. Most of the time the repos happen because of divorce, jailed occupants, tax defaults or deaths... so, do the math. This is probably the BEST form of self employment a modern day treasure hunter could indulge in. Best in larger towns and old home historic districts. My advice to anyone wanting to do this kind of work...get your contractors license and insurance, and go for it! It is NOT stealing and it is TOTALLY legal, above board, and on the books... it just sounds horrible to you because nobody wouldn't want anyone walking out with all their stuff.... totally understandable, and, after you are confronted by the nosy neighbors and the police show up on a possible vandalism/burglary call (Happens to us at least once a year)...you just show him the contract, and hey, have a nice day officer! (While you smile that big toothy grin at the idiots next door who missed out on the ransack party LMAO!) you see, the real estate sign doesn't go in the yard until after the house is cleaned out, so, nobody knows the status of the house except the bank, the real estate agent, and the former occupants. (Beware the former occupants...they CAN get a judge to issue a a writ for 24 hour evacuation of property.) ...but, you dont have to allow them access while your crew is on the job doing repairs which endanger their safety or yours. Contractors have rights too. but, you need a good truck, at least two guys, and some knowledge about cosmetic repairs etc... other than that, I'd say anybody could do 1000 bucks a week on this stuff easy. Even the smaller homes are about 500 bucks to get em prepped for sale ...and thats just touchup paint, carpet cleaning and rubbish disposal. Add repairs and you start getting into the money... We do roofing, concrete work, framing, trim carpentry...you name it... I just wish I had more of this type work in my area... especially now with the economy down... Plenty of empty houses, but, agents aren't calling as often because the market is not ready... nothing is selling so the schedule is not a priority. banks are shopping agents for better deals.

It used to be, in Michigan anyway, that a person who regularly went to "donate" plasma for cash could at any time be instantly disqualified for life from ever making such donations again due to a sudden elevation in his or her blood levels of certain liver enzymes. I know. It happened to me many years ago. I had been donating plasma twice a week for a long period of time. It was a nice source of extra cash aside from the damaging permanent scars they caused to my veins. Regular blood tests conducted by the plasma clinic showed my liver enzymes had tested high one day. They suspected hepatitis infection when in fact it turned out to be a side effect of some new antidepressant I had started taking. It didn't matter. I was permanently banned and my social security number was entered into a nationwide database as being a banned donator. I was then offered the opportunity to sell my whole blood for medical science purposes only. It was a paltry sum in comparison to the amounts paid for plasma. I believe I was offered $15 for a pint, and I was told I could only return to do this once every six weeks. My point: you CAN sell your blood for cash, but it is hardly worth the trouble. Stop bashing on Ken and Jay for that part of their story anyway.

You can hook up with almost any company that gets stuck with the bad mortage, usually helps to know someone or underbid the competition. As for the bounty, or booty from those homes? Almost any state has a to the curb law for a set amount of hours before the neighbors or whomever can root through it. Usually 24 hours to 3 day's, from house to truck to market is pretty much basically looting before that. If a signed waiver of want or ownership (usually impossible) by the previous tenants is in hand its all free. Could be worse, or moreso morbid though. Keeping tabs on the obits and looking out for the cleanout dumpsters from those properties. Cleanest deal? Very little cost? Sweep the clothing drop boxes in your areas, anything set outside the box is considered dumping and free. List 50 to 100 plus items on (they buy anything) ebay. Buyer pays shipping and confirmation, listing is minor, post office delivers boxes to your door and picks them up. Remember, everything save for a loved ones momento is simply "stuff". You can't feed your family stuff. Sell it if the need is there.

Cleaning out foreclosed homes can be profitable and what you remove is not stealing. The banks that own these homes work with local real estate personnel to hire the people to do the cleaning. In my area part of the deal for cleaning out these homes is that you can keep anything you deam valuable. My husband and I did it when we were younger and did quite well. The banks want these properties cleaned and ready as can be to be sold. They have absolutely no interest in what is left behind.

Nobody ever brings this up. But one way to make extra money is to be a referee in Basketball Football Hockey or a umpire in Baseball. Your own town is always looking for people doing local Baseball games.Your local High Schools always are looking for people in all sports. We pay our Little League umpires $30.00 for each game they do.I`ve umpired for over 30 years and I`ve used that extra money for vacations many of times. If you like working with kids, love sports, the job is perfect.I hope this has helped.

I have a friend that posts 3 ads a day on craigslist. http://www.hollywoodmodelphotography.com for his photography site. No problem for years. The Platelette thing actually sounds very cool. I'm going to check that out since I have been donating for about 6 years now for free. I never new you could get cash so close in my area. I actually thought they had banned giving money. At least thats what my hospital that takes it for free told me.

Posted March 4, 2010 by cool article

A: Plasma is refined from whole blood. It can be stored for longer periods while retaining many of the benefits of whole blood. B: No hospital would be able to check records to know an individuals donor history C: The whole point of Craigslist is that it is an open-source, cost-free bulletin board that may be used by any person with an e-mail account. They sell ad space to corporations and business entities, as does any regular website you may access, but they do not charge to post on their site. D: Some of you may benefit from using the internet as a research tool before you post your thoughts.

The person I had spoken to on the phone was more interested my part-time job, which I explained I have had off and on for the past 10 years. It was a job that only paid $8.50 an hour!!! It simple was a labor of love working at the bookstore! It should not have been used to determine my benefit. I had been an Administrative Assistant for over 13 years and was making a nice salary of over $50K.... this has hurt me tremendously! I had called a few different people at Unemployment Division and they told me there was nothing to be done about it, it was the way the system was set up!! and to call my Senators and Representatives, etc!! MY QUESTION TO ALL WHO HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN IS WHAT CAN WE DO NOW??? CAN WE RE-COOP THOSE LOST DOLLARS? Let me know if you find out any more info on this. Good luck to you!

Kelly, You can get a provisional patent for $100 from the U.S. Government Patent Office. This Is placed on file for a year to protect your being the first to have invented your idea. After the year is up, you can apply for a patent. That can cost $400.00 or more, depending on it's complexity. This is a do-it-yourself patent. On their website you can also look up any patents that are similar to yours and find out how the descriptive wording for the devices are done.

We also put quite a few days in it . I figured it out with gas and miles we lost money and we did a lot of hours of work for negative pay . Never do it . I talke to people that did neighborhoods and they walked and did OK not good just OK .

Posted February 25, 2010 by Allen

just to clarify....when you donate plasma, they remove the blood through a needle with a tube attached, spin it through a machine to separate the plasma, and then give the remainder of the packed red blood cells back to you. u can definitely get paid for this. but u had better have good veins because if they are too small for the big needle then they will not be able to do you. also, u will never get paid to donate whole blood. and even if u did, no hospital would ever be able to find out about it. add that to the fact that no hospital with an emergency room can refuse emergency treatment because it is highly illegal, and i doubt that the aforementioned story is true. by the way, these ideas are great!

Posted February 25, 2010 by nurseJ

shoverling or plowing .or snowblowing snow this winter would be quite welcome by many people esp. the elderly. I wonder if you have to be bonded to go into peoples houses to clean. Remember when you babysit you are responsible for a life. Some companies will pay to paint or put their logo on your car for advertising. Plant veggies or fruits for those with land and get some of the produce as part payment. Be careful who you rent a room to. Background checks and a line in the lease about noise or smoking should cover some of the problems.

Yes plasma does come from blood, but when you donate they actually extract the plasma from the rest of your blood and only take that. There is a big difference. You can donate plasma twice a week, I believe the limit on blood donation is once a month.

In this economy the best option is to create your own business. I know from first hand experience that you apply for a job and if you're lucky they'll actually respond. Wow....people really should check facts before they comment. You do not get paid for donating blood. You get paid for donating plasma. And yes TnTi, it comes from blood, but once the plasma has been seperated, you are given back your red blood cells. You can donate plasma up to 2 times per week....for this reason. Donating whole blood is limited as you have to wait several weeks to regenerate the red blood cells. Hospitals can NOT refuse to give blood to anyone. Donar or not. Isn't it ironic that someone always has a "friend" that something negative happened too in any given situation??

Home based busninesses that offer e-products and franchising for little or modest investment (i.e. http://blessings7.lgnprosperity.com) are always available. Stay away, but not always, from businesses that require a monthly autoship. While some of these are good, they can be a money drain if your resources limited.

If you are getting unemployment checks, taking a temporary low-paying job which does not pay cash under the table can have a VERY negative affect on the amount in your unemployment check when you restart your claim. The rules may vary from state to state, but a recent quarter of low income could knock-out , say, a year-old quarter of high income. The result can be a lower unemployment check. Another scenario is that the temporary low-paying job could force you to start a new claim. Since you may not have been employed for quite a while, you may only have this one quarter of lower income on which to use in the calculations for your new check. This has happened to colleagues of mine in various job networking groups we belong to. It's sad that the "good deed" of getting a temp job can get you punished when it ends. The rules/laws are broken here. YMMV, especially from stat-to-state and what's going on with all the unemployment extensions. My state has 4-5 extensions beyond the initial 26-week claim.

My grand daughter's boyfriend is laid off from his job as a plumber. He is doing fine. He sells scrap metal that people want removed from their property, sells firewood that he can get for free when ole man winter downs trees, he cleans out foreclosed homes and sells the good stuff at yard sales. The things he has removed from foreclosed homes-60" plasma TV and other smaller TVs, many aquariums, furniture, tons of new toys in boxes, power tools, may hand tools and tool boxes, tons of clothes, linens and towels by the garbage bag.

Ken, either you or your friend Jay are lying. No hospital refuses to provide blood just because the recipient accepted money for blood.

Why do you list donating eggs, a time-consuming, invasive procedure, when you don't list donating sperm, a way for men to get paid for something they'd probably do anyway.

Word from the wise on donating blood and accepting money for it. I have witnessed this happen in hospitals across Florida. My friend Jay had gone down to donate a pint of blood and got $30 for the donation. A month and a half later when he had been involved in a car accident, he needed a transfusion and they almost refused because he had accepted money for donating blood. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU.
